Over two decades ago (eek!) I started my career as a project manager, but soon developed a tragic and lifelong allergy to spreadsheets. Fleeing the horrors of conditional formatting, I embraced a career in management and professional training. It was only one small, additional step to begin writing about professional communication and how to get the most out of corporate life.
I work hard to steer well clear of that dry, academic tone you find in so much business writing. Sure, the tone needs to be professional! But that doesn't mean the content has to be ponderous, passive or pompous. It is possible to talk business in a fresh new way.
